Our Vision
Uniting Communities and Celebrating Abilities
At Pathfinders Cymru, we aspire to create a dynamic, inclusive hub that stands as a beacon of opportunity for children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities, neurodiversity, and mild physical disabilities. Our vision is to cultivate a space that not only meets the unique needs of individuals but also fosters a stronger, more integrated community.

We aim to provide a comprehensive and accessible facility that offers opportunities for employment, vocational training, and recreational activities. This hub will empower individuals by reducing social isolation, enhancing life skills, and promoting well-being. Looking to the future, we envision expanding our services to include specialised childcare for children with disabilities, addressing a crucial gap in the current service landscape.

Our Commitment
We are dedicated to creating a society where everyone has equal access to opportunities, regardless of their abilities. Through our hub, we strive to foster a sense of belonging and provide a place where individuals can thrive, learn, and grow. Our commitment extends beyond providing services—we aim to build a community where everyone is valued, supported, and empowered.
Meeting the
Community's Needs
Our hub will cater to children, young people, and adults with disabilities, neurodiversity, and their families, as well as local residents seeking inclusive services.

There is a clear need for accessible services and educational opportunities for individuals with disabilities in our community.

Many young people, especially those aged 16-25, face barriers to traditional education and employment pathways due to challenges such as autism, anxiety, and other disabilities.
Our goal is to bridge this gap by offering vocational training,
supported employment, and opportunities to build essential skills.

With a significant portion of the population facing digital exclusion and high unemployment rates, we aim to provide a safe and accessible environment where individuals can connect, learn, and gain valuable skills for the future.

The barriers often begin as infants - there is a massive UK-wide lack of childcare provision for disabled children. This leaves many families with no option but for a parent to cease working. This financial impact has lifelong implications not just for the child but also for the entire family and is often the very beginning of the exclusion, "othering" and isolation of the disabled person and their family.
Our Hub Plans
Enterprise and Employment
Supported enterprise units for people with learning disabilties to run small businesses and retail units.
Providing people with learning disabilities the right support for successful long term employment.
Skills Development
Vocational training spaces, a qualification and exam centre, and access to digital technologies for skills-building. To give EVERY young person the skills needed to puruse careers that are aspirational to them.
Onsite Support Services
Community access to advocacy services for welfare, housing, medical, and education issues—ensuring the right outcomes from the start. Additional onsite services include counseling, therapy, and a resource library to ease financial burdens.
Shared facilities
A community café offering employment opportunities for individuals with learning disabilities, and a childcare provision focused on children with disabilities.
As well as truly inclusive indoor and outdoor spaces for sports, arts, and social activities, including sensory gardens and accessible play areas.
Our Approach
Pathfinders Cymru will lead this initiative with a dedicated team and local volunteers, ensuring our facilities are fully accessible—from the ground floor to the top. We go beyond wheelchair accessibility, incorporating sensory adaptations to create a truly inclusive space.
To achieve this, we will consult specialists and families, ensuring every aspect of the building design and layout meets diverse needs. Additionally, we will leverage inclusive technology to provide remote access to services, ensuring that even those who are housebound can fully participate in our community.

Join Us In Shaping the Future
At Pathfinders Cymru, we are excited about the potential of our vision for an inclusive hub to transform lives. By addressing gaps in services and opportunities, we aim to create a space that not only serves individuals with disabilities but benefits the entire community. We invite our partners, supporters, and trustees to align with our vision and contribute to shaping the future of this transformative project.
